What is Pilates?

Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, Pilates is a conditioning program for the mind and body specifically targeting the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine. Pilates can help to improve strength, flexibility, co-ordination, efficiency of movement, balance and posture. Pilates is a safe and effective exercise system for all age groups and fitness levels.

What do I do in a session?

Each Pilates session begins with exercises to centre the mind and body and warm up the joints. This is followed by exercises to Strengthen, stretch and tone the whole body and address any individual goals or problem areas.

What is Gyrotonic®?

The fundamentals of Gyrotonics are based on a system of exercises for the musculature whilst mobilizing and articulating the joints. The uniqueness of the System is that it stretches and strengthens at the same time with minimal effort, while increasing the range of motion and developing co-ordination. This is performed on a series of specially designed exercise equipment, which was built to allow freedom of movement and enhance co-ordination, strength and flexibility.

What is Therapeutic Exercise?

If you are recovering from an injury or suffer from muscle or joint pain, our fully qualified Physiotherapists can devise a safe and effective exercise program to suit your individual needs.

What is Physiotherapy?

At Core Studio we also offer Traditional Physiotherapy for the treatment of both Acute and Chronic Injuries in our private treatment rooms.
Treatment may include:

How Do I get started?

All sessions are by appointment. All clients are required to start with a private assessment and introduction session. You can then discuss with your teacher which session is most suitable for you. If you have any injuries that may limit your capacity to exercise or that require specific attention, we strongly recommend that you work with a Physio.
