What is Pilates?
Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, Pilates is a conditioning program for the mind and body specifically targeting the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine. Pilates can help to improve strength, flexibility, co-ordination, efficiency of movement, balance and posture. Pilates is a safe and effective exercise system for all age groups and fitness levels.

What do I do in a session?
Each Pilates session begins with exercises to centre the mind and body and warm up the joints. This is followed by exercises to Strengthen, stretch and tone the whole body and address any individual goals or problem areas.
How do I get started?
All sessions are by appointment. All clients are required to start with a private assessment and introduction session. You can then discuss with your teacher which session is most suitable for you. If you have any injuries that may limit your capacity to exercise or that require specific attention, we strongly recommend that you work with a Physio. Please inform us of this when making your booking. We look forward to seeing you in the studio.
